As a part of the activities realized within the project “Firefighters and emergency management Recaș – Žagubica” rors 40, joint trainings for firefighters from Recaș and Žagubica have been organized in Krepoljin. Objective of the joint trainings were to exchange experiences and know-how of volunteers from Recaș and Žagubica after the accredited trainings, as well as to show readiness, efficiency and responsibility during delivery of simulative exercises of extinguishing fires and reacting in emergency situations.
During the first day of the joint training, representatives of the voluntary firefighting teams from Žagubica and Recaș have, with the support of representatives of the Emergency headquarters from Pozarevac and professional firefighters from Žagubica, realized the simulative exercise of the extinguishing an open-space fire by firefighting vehicles procured within the project “Firefighters and emergency management Recaș – Žagubica”.
The course of the joint training has presented the readiness of the volunteers from Žagubica and Recaș for efficient reaction in the case of an open-space fire.
During the second day of the joint training, representatives of the cross-border partner from Recaș acquainted themselves with the gear and operations of the firefighting equipment procured within the project “Firefighters and emergency management Recaș – Žagubica”. During the second part of the training, firefighters from Recaș and Žagubica have jointly realized a simulative exercise of reacting in emergency situations, i.e. in the case of traffic accident by application of the destroying tools set.
During the coming period as per the planned activities, organization of another joint training is envisioned to be held in Recaș in Romania.
Project “Firefighters and emergency management Recaș-Žagubica” is being implemented within the Cross-border cooperation Programme Romania-Serbia financed by the European union, through the Instrument of Pre-accession assistance (IPA II). Implementation of the Project has begun in June 2017 and will last until the May 2019. Total budget of the Project amounts 1.414.018 euro, of which European union is financing 1.201.915,30 euro, and Municipalities Recaș and Žagubica are co-financing the project with 212.102.70 euro.
Main objective of the Project “Firefighters and emergency management Recaș-Žagubica” is to improve conditions for emergency situation response in cross-border communities, strengthen local stakeholders and contribute to more efficient action in fire protection cases, which will altogether significantly contribute to decrease of the damages caused by fires. Activities implemented through this project will identify current situation related to potential risks, define emergency situation response and action strategy, and enhance information and knowledge of citizens in the area of environment protection. Project also envisions procurement of firefighting vehicles and equipment which will contribute to more efficient and faster response in cases of fires, as well as establishment of Voluntary firefighting team.
