Joint training for firefighters from Recas and Zagubica

Within the Project „Firefighters and emergency situations management Recas-Zagubica“, a joint training for firefighters of Voluntary firefighting team from Recas and firefighters form Zagubica has been held in Recas, Romania.  The objective of this training was to asses the knowledge related to fast interventions during extinguishing fires in endangered areas acquired during the organised educations for firefighters, and also the exchange of experiences among participants in the area of acting in emergency situations.

During the 2-day training, firefighters from both municipalities have exchanged experiences in the area of protection against fires, identified differences and similarities in their work, as well as in the firefighting equipment they own. Firefighters from Zagubica were welcomed in Firefighting house in Recas, where the hosts presented their experiences, equipment, manners of acting and work of Voluntary firefighting team from Recas.

During the joint training, firefighters from Recas presented to firefighters from Zagubica the simulated demonstration exercise 3-1 A and competitive exercise, participated by 5 firefighters.

Both exercises were executed in record short time, in fast and efficient manner. Firefighters  from Zagubica have congratulated their peers from Recas on their skillfulness and concluded the both exercises were delivered at the level of professional firefighters of Republic of Serbia.

Main objective of the Project “Firefighters and emergency management Recas-Zagubica” is to improve conditions for emergency situation response in cross-border communities, strengthen local stakeholders and contribute to more efficient action in fire protection cases, which will altogether significantly contribute to decrease of the damages caused by fires. Activities implemented through this project will identify current situation related to potential risks, define emergency situation response and action strategy, and enhance information and knowledge of citizens in the area of environment protection.

Project “Firefighters and emergency management Recas-Zagubica” is being implemented within the Cross-border cooperation Programme Romania-Serbia financed by the European union, through the Instrument of Pre-accession assistance (IPA II). Implementation of the Project has begun in June 2017 and will last until the November 2018. Total budget of the Project amounts 1.414.018 euro, of which European union is financing 1.201.915,30 euro, and Municipalities Recas and Zagubica are co-financing the project with 212.102,70 euro.
